On this day, KBL President Kim Hee-ok visited the Jincheon Athletes’ Village in North Chungcheong Province and met with the national team players who were sweating in their final stages, promising to pay them a reward and separately delivering a small amount of encouragement.
President Kim asked the players, including coach Il-seung Chu, to do well and said, “Please play a game that will impress the people and become a new catalyst for the revival of professional basketball.”
Korea, which belongs to Group D along with Japan, Indonesia, and Qatar, will leave for Hangzhou, China, the site of the final match, on the 23rd.
