‘Team Kim’ players from Gangneung City Hall’s curling club, a leading Korean curling team that finished second at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and the 2022 World Women’s Curling Championships, are trying to reclaim the national team and secure tickets to participate in the Winter Olympics.
According to Gangneung City on the 18th, the Gangneung City Hall Curling Team, which left for training in Canada on the 5th, will complete an 8-week schedule and participate in a total of 7 international competitions.
Coach Peter Gallant, who was with the team at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and World Curling Championships, will also join this training camp and improve their skills through team tactical training.
In addition, we decided to improve our performance and regain confidence through actual matches against the world’s top ranked teams in various ice environments.먹튀검증
Through this, the intention is to re-enter the top 10 in the world rankings in the 2023-2024 season, reclaim the national team for the 2024-2025 season, and secure a ticket to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.
After this overseas training, Team Kim will resume the psychological skills training newly introduced this year.
The psychological skills training, which has been conducted every week since last March, began at the recommendation of sports psychology expert Professor Cheon Seong-min (Catholic Kwandong University Sports Guidance Department) and is a combination of team training and individual counseling.
Continuous psychological skills training helps athletes improve their performance by overcoming the various pressures they experience during games and developing their mental ability to maintain optimal condition.
An official from Gangneung City said, “Team Kim’s players are a team with endless growth potential in the future,” and added, “We will actively support our curling team so that it can constantly move toward bigger goals.”
