Dodgers unable to extend 2-game winning streak, 5-run first inning wipes out Urias

The Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to extend their winning streak.

The Dodgers dropped a 4-6 decision to the Kansas City Royals of the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sunday (Feb. 2).

The Dodgers were unable to build on the momentum of a 14-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on March 30 and a 9-3 victory over Kansas City the day before.스포츠토토

Dodgers starter Hollyoaks Urias fell apart in the first inning. He gave up a double to right-center field to leadoff hitter Michael Garcia and a single to right field to Bobby Witt Jr.

With runners on first and third, he gave up a single to right to Salvador Perez. He drew a 12-pitch walk to Nick Prato to load the bases and gave up a sacrifice fly to Edward Olivares to make it 0-2.

The runs followed. After walking Matt Duffy to load the bases, he gave up a sacrifice fly to Samard Taylor and a double to center field to Drew Waters.

Trailing 5-0, the Dodgers rallied in the top of the fifth, putting runners on first and third with a Yoenis Hernandez single, a Mookie Betts sacrifice fly, and a Freddie Freeman single up the middle.

But it would remain a two-run game until the sixth inning. Urias worked through the inning without allowing another run, followed by Bickford and Breazer, but the offense couldn’t get any more runs across.

After adding one more run in the bottom of the seventh, the Dodgers scored a run in the top of the eighth on an infield single by James Outman with runners on first and third, but were unable to add any more.

Urias suffered his fifth loss of the season after allowing five runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts in three innings.
